NGSA Stampede (3) vs. P.A.C. (8)
The Stampede faced P.A.C. today and had a rough go of it. The
girls seemed a little out of sorts today, but did have a few
flashes of brilliance.
Nicole spent the first half in net and saw a number of solid
shots (the P.A.C. grls could *definitely* shoot hard).
The Stampede started things off with what can only be described
as "the right way" to move the ball and score. Ashley had the
ball on the right side, sent a perfect centering pass to Courtney
who one touched it to Amy (wide open) who drilled a shot past the
P.A.C. keeper. Outstanding play from all 3 girls on that one.
P.A.C. picked up 2 goals (one an accidental defensive deflection
that Nicole couldn't get to) to take the lead before Ashley
sent a high shot through the P.A.C. keeper's hands.
In the second half, Aimee took over the netminding duties and
spent the half getting pounded with shots. She again made some
great kick saves and played an all-around good game in net.
P.A.C. picked up the first 2 goals of the second half to take a
lead they'd never lose.
Courtney picked up the final Stampede goal on a very smart play.
The Stampede won a free kick after the P.A.C. keeper walked out
of the box with the ball. As P.A.C. slowly came back to regroup,
Courtney simply took the kick and drilled it past the keeper and
sleeping P.A.C. defense.
P.A.C. picked up 4 more goals as the Stampede began to look a
little more tired.
Similar to last week, the Stampede had no shortage of shooting
chances with Courtney, Ashley and Amy taking some great shots
that were either stopped by the keeper, a little high or a little
wide. Very good shots though.
