  1. Execute Blocking Set #1, right side only.

  5. Execute Blocking Set #1 with both hands, left hand moving in the normal fashion and your right hand moving in the reverse motion pattern.
  6. Execute Blocking Set #1 with both hands, left hand moving in the reverse motion pattern and your right hand moving in the normal fashion.
  7. Pivot to 3:00 into a right Forward Bow while doing a right universal block.
  8. Pivot into a right Neutral Bow while doing a left universal block towards 1:30.
  9. Pivot to your left into a left Forward Bow facing 9:00 while doing a left universal block.
  10. Pivot into a left Neutral Bow while doing a right universal block towards 10:30.

  21. Drop your left foot back to 6:00 into a right Forward Bow while doing a downward cross block (hands open).
  22. slide your right foot back to 3:00 into a Horse Stance facing 12:00 while doing double outside Downward Parries.

  24. Do double pushdown blocks.
  25. Into a meditating position and up to Attention Stance.

STANCE SET #1

There are 22 stances in this set. This set is showing transition between stances. Hidden within this set are a number of foot maneuvers that, obviously, you need in order to move from one stance to another. This set teaches flow and smooth transitions from one stance to another. You will recognize the stance switches from both techniques and forms.

STANCE SET #2

Although I'm not entirely sure about this, I think this set is showing us (above and beyond what we learned in Stance Set #1) direction and angle changes as we transition between stances. It also seems to be showing application of the stances from Stance Set #1.

I don't think my descriptions of the hand movements are the technical descriptions of the moves, but they get me to where I need to be...

  1. From a meditating Horse Stance, step forward into a right Neutral Bow with a left pushdown block (fingers pointing right) and a right overhead parry (fingers pointing left).
  2. Pivot into a right Neutral Bow moving your hands into standard open handed fight position (right hand at face level, palm in, left hand checking below solar plexus).
  3. Slide your right foot back into a 45 degree Cat Stance as you do a left inward parry at face level and your right open hand (palm in) moves down directly over your right knee.
  4. Bring your right foot up into a left Crane Stance as you do a left overhead parry (fingers pointing right) with your right open hand checking under your right thigh (fingers pointing left).
  5. Drop your right foot straight back into a front twist stance while doing a left inward parry that stops in your center line and a right palm up check at solar plexus level.
  6. Unwind into a left Neutral Bow, moving your hands into standard open handed fight position (left hand at face level, palm in, right hand checking below solar plexus).
  7. Sink into a left Wide Kneel stance with a left overhead parry (fingers pointing right) and your right hand checking outside your right knee.
  8. Turn your right knee in, into a left Close Kneel stance as you do a left inward parry at face level and your right open hand (palm in) checks at your solar plexus.
  9. Slide your right lag back into a left Neutral Bow, moving your hands into standard open handed fight position (left hand at face level, palm in, right hand checking below solar plexus).
  10. Turn clockwise into a left Reverse Bow while doing a left heel palm (fingers down) along your left leg and a right overhead parry (fingers pointing left).
  11. Slide your left foot in front of your right foot towards 6:00 into a right Rear Twist (looking towards 12:00) while doing a left two fingered eye poke to 12:00 with your right hand checking at solar plexus level.
  12. Unwind from the twist into a right Neutral Bow facing 12:00, moving your hands into standard open handed fight position (right hand at face level, palm in, left hand checking below solar plexus).
  13. Step thru forward into a Left Forward Bow facing 12:00 with a right pushdown block (fingers pointing left) and a left overhead parry (fingers pointing right).
  14. Pivot into a left Neutral Bow, moving your hands into standard open handed fight position (right hand at face level, palm in, left hand checking below solar plexus).
  15. Slide yout left foot back into a 45 degree Cat Stance as you do a right inward parry at face level and your left open hand (palm in) moves down directly over your left knee.

  22. Turn counter clockwise into a right Reverse Bow while doing a right heel palm (fingers down) along your right leg and a left overhead parry (fingers pointing right).
  23. Slide your right foot in front of your left foot towards 6:00 into a left Rear Twist (looking towards 12:00) while doing a right two fingered eye poke to 12:00 with your left hand checking at solar plexus level.
  24. Unwind from the twist into a left Neutral Bow, moving your hands into standard open handed fight position (right hand at face level, palm in, left hand checking below solar plexus).
  25. Leap forward, landing in a Diamond Stance while doing double heel palms (left and pointing left, right hand pointing right) down between your knees.
  26. Turn your knees in, into a Concave Stance while changing your heel plams into cupping hands pulling (stop at knee level).
  27. Turn to 3:00 into a right Close Kneel stance while doing a left heel palm down the outside of your left knee.
  28. Pivot counter clockwise into a left Close Kneel stance towards 9:00 while doing a right heel palm down the outside of your right knee.
  29. As you rise up, do a right thrusting sweep (towards 9:00), landing in a right Rotating Twist stance while doing a right back hammerfist to 3:00.
  30. Step out of the twist into a horse stance facing 12:00 with your hands chambered at your sides.
  31. Do a left thrusting sweep to 3:00, landing in a left rotating twist stance while doing a left back hammerfist to 9:00.
  32. Step out of the twist into a horse stance facing 12:00 with your hands chambered at your sides.
  33. Do a left pushdown block (fingers pointing right) at solar plexus level and a right overhead parry (fingers pointing left).
  34. Switch hands into a right pushdown block (fingers pointing left) and a left overhead parry (fingers pointing right).
  35. Bring your left hand down to a left inward parry that stops in your center line and a right palm up check at solar plexus level.
  36. Switch hands into a right inward parry that stops in your center line and a left palm up check at solar plexus level.
  37. Bring your right foot up into a left Crane Stance as you do a left overhead parry (fingers pointing right) with your right open hand checking under your right thigh (fingers pointing left).
  38. Bring your left leg up to a right Crane Stance as you do a right overhead parry (fingers pointing left) with your left open hand checking under your left thigh (fingers pointing right).
  39. Meditating position and up to attention stance.

KICKING SET #1

SET 1: (12 o'clock - Right foot kicks)

  1. Right foot back into a left neutral bow
  2. Step through ball kick, landing in a right neutral bow
  3. Left foot cross over right into a twist stance. Right side kick, landing in a right neutral bow
  4. Left foot shuffle, right roundhouse kick, landing in a right neutral bow
  5. Left spinning rear kick, landing in a left neutral bow
  6. Drop your right foot back to 9 o'clock into a left neutral bow facing 3 o'clock

SET 2: (3 o'clock)

  1. Right step through side kick, landing in a right neutral bow
  2. Left foot shuffle, right ball kick, landing in a right neutral bow
  3. Left foot shuffle, right roundhouse kick, landing in a right neutral bow
  4. Left foot shuffle, right rear kick, landing in a right neutral bow
  5. Drop your left foot to 12 o'clock into a right neutral bow facing 6 o'clock

SET 3: (6 o'clock - Left foot kicks)

  1. Left spinning rear kick, landing in a left neutral bow

  1. From an attention stance, move into a meditating horse stance then slide your right foot back to 6:00 into a left neutral bow facing 12:00.
  2. Execute a front chicken kick (front leg then rear leg) to 12:00, and plant into a right neutral bow, facing 12:00.
  3. Execute a front chicken kick (rear leg then front leg) to 12:00, and plant into a right neutral bow, facing 12:00.
  4. Execute a back chicken kick (front leg then rear leg) to 6:00, and plant your left foot to 6:00 into a right neutral bow, facing 12:00.
  5. Execute a back chicken kick (rear leg then front leg) to 6:00, and plant your right foot to 12:00 into a right neutral bow, facing 12:00.
  6. Execute a front chicken kick (front leg then rear leg) to 12:00, and plant your left foot to 12:00 into a left neutral bow, facing 12:00.

Set 2 (12 o'clock):

  1. Step through with your right foot into a right neutral bow while doing a right outward block.
  2. Extend your right outward block forward into a right punch.
  3. Into a right forward bow while doing a left punch.

  7. Left Horizontal Thrust Punch while doing a right Ball Kick into a right Horizontal Thrust Punch while doing a right Rear Kick landing back in a left Forward Bow
  8. Right Upward Parry and a left Pushdown Block

Set 10 (12 o'clock):

  1. Right foot forward into a right Neutral Bow facing 12:00
  2. Right Outward Block and a left Downward Block
  3. Left Outward Block and a right Downward Block
  4. While turning into a left Forward bow, do a right Upward Block and a left Inward Block
  5. While turning back into a left Neutral Bow, do a left Upward Block and a right Inward Block
  6. While turning into a Forward Bow, do a left Inward Block
  7. Right Horizontal Thrust Punch while doing a left Ball Kick into a left Horizontal Thrust Punch while doing a left Rear Kick landing back in a right Forward Bow
  8. Left Upward Parry and a right Pushdown Block
  9. Step up with your left foot into a Horse Stance

TWO MAN SET

In this set, unlike my technique descriptions, I've described the clock directions from your current point of view rather than from the original starting point. I found it easier to follow this way.
  1. Right foot steps to 3:00 while doing a right back knuckle to face.
  2. Left foot steps back 7:30 while doing left inward and right outward blocks followed by a left horizontal punch to ribs.
  1. Left foot steps to 1:30 while doing right downward elbow to deflect the punch. Pivot clockwise into a right Neutral Bow facing opponent while doing a right thrusting hand sword to neck.
  2. Left inward parry, right outward parry, right step-thru while doing a right middle knuckle to ribs. Left step-thru and unwind into a right Neutral Bow while doing right back knuckle to kidney.
  1. Left foot steps to 9:00 while doing a right rear elbow, then pivot clockwise toward opponent into a right Neutral Bow while doing a left thrust punch to ribs.
  2. Wrap and break the left arm and follow with a right ball kick to ribs.
  1. Turn into a left reverse bow while doing a right downward block, as your left fist cocks to your to left ear (elbow high). do a left front crossover and, as your right foot steps out, do a right overhead back knuckle to opponents face.
  2. Left rear crossover (as A is doing their crossover) into a right rear twist stance while doing a left upward block. Step drag (gauging distance) into a left sidekick.
  1. Right downward smothering block, then step to 9:00 with your left foot while doing a left uppercut.
  2. Left hook, right bump and left inward handsword to face.
  1. Right upward block circling into a right inverted hammerfist to kidney.
  2. Left foot back into a left 90 degree cat stance while doing left inward block. Step out with your left foot into a left Neutral Bow while doing a left vertical eye-poke.
  1. Right outward extended block, grab opponents forearm, left half-fist to throat.
  2. Right outward extended block, grab opponents forearm, push-drag into a left inward elbow to solar plexus.
  1. Left rear cross-over, stop in the middle, cheat to the left with your right foot then pivot counter clockwise into a right Neutral Bow while doing a right downward diagonal elbow followed by a right outward thumb-knuckle to eye.
  2. Right upward slap-up into right outward handsword to ribs.
  1. Right foot steps back into a right cat stance while doing a right inward block. Step to 1:30 with your right foot (behind opponent) with a right outward elbow.
  2. Left foot steps back into a left cat stance while doing a left downward back knuckle to elbow. Step out to 11:00 with your right foot while doing a left tigers paw, palm up, choke.
  1. Left inward parry as you step to 10:30 with your left foot to match opponents angle and do a right heel-palm to ribs.
  2. Step back with your left foot to match opponents angle while doing a right hooking forearm and a left heel-palm to ribs.
  1. Step back to 4:30 with your left foot into a left reverse bow while doing a right downward block then a right roundhouse kick.
  2. Step back to 4:30 with your left foot (to same line as opponent) while doing a right outward extended block, spinning opponent. Left rear crossover and begin again as A.
  1. Right front crossover and begin again as B.

THE BOOK SET

This set is not required. In fact, most people don't know it and, therefore, don't run it. The story (from what I heard anyway) was that Mr. Parker found this form in a book in a library in the Chinatown section of Los Angeles. I believe it was initially used and Form 4 before it was removed from the system and replaced with the current Form 4.

This set has a Kung-Fu look to it and, if you look close enough when you run it, you'll see pieces of Parker Kenpo techniques.

The description below is mostly complete and I am still working on it. It should be reasonably good up through the last 8-10 movements.
